We spent 2016 helping some wonderful people reimagine their homes. One such stunning transformation? This functional and fetching Woodbury kitchen project! Throughout seven weeks, our crew helped this family repurpose their traditional 1960’s two-story home. Whenever we begin a new remodel, our greatest goal is always to gather our client’s dearest desires and deeply practical needs. In this case, our client wanted to open up their space, maximize available storage, and retrain the sitting area looking out on their patio. We set to work to make those dreams a reality!
While we aim to meet every challenge, part of our job is also to present clients with the facts and cost of their ideas. After careful consideration, these homeowners abandoned the idea of removing the wall between their kitchen and living room. In the end, they decided that the expense was going to be too large and the loss of storage too significant to proceed. In that spirit, we did as much as we could to still open up the floor plan. We removed a non-load bearing wall between the kitchen and dining room and installed a new header to widen the hallway entrance to the kitchen.
One of our favorite parts of this remodel was crafting the beautiful buffet area. The clients wanted to combine the best parts of a built-in and heirloom hutch; the piece needed to be unique and useful. We’re so proud of the finished cabinets; they’re full of equal amounts of display-ready and storage-minded sections! Between the elegant glass cabinet doors and detailed arched toe-kick (bottom cabinet), the built-in became a standout statement piece.
Above all, we enjoyed partnering with these thoughtful, collaborative homeowners. They made each decision with care while staying open to our expertise – peruse more pictures of their elegant and timeless home below!
