How to Get Out of Hosting the Holidays

The calendar has already flipped to November, which means December is just around the corner. That’s right, the holiday season is right on our heels! While we’re looking forward to feasting with family and spreading tidings of joy, it’s also impossible to deny the elevated stress levels that accompany all of this merry making.

Between shopping, planning, and attending various work, school, church, and family celebrations, it can be hard to find the space to breathe. One thing’s for sure, time for relaxation is definitely in short supply between Thanksgiving Day and New Year’s Eve. Which is why one of our recent clients filled us with inspiration after sharing their reasoning for embarking on a fall remodel. Their revolutionary revelation? A fall-winter project timeline would get them out of having to host the holidays this year. Brilliant, right?!

In all sincerity, we completely understand that while the holiday season is deeply meaningful, at times it is also downright overwhelming. Even more so if your family is tasked with hosting elaborate meals year after year in a house that’s not equipped for it. Nothing seems to make a home’s inefficient layout, lack of space or awkward quirks stand out more than filling it with a massive group of guests.

If your space is stressing you out and taking the joy out of hosting the holidays, then please, take a year off. Our top-notch remodeling team can give you a fantastic excuse to skip this season and return to hosting next year with style!
