With more than 20 years in the remodeling industry, we understand how important it is to work with a remodeling contractor that’s experienced, reliable, and transparent about the process — and that’s precisely what we strive to be for our clients. Keep reading to learn what sets J. Carsten Remodeling apart!
1. We are a small, personal company.
People often ask us what the advantage is of working with a smaller, more personal company. We think the answer is clear. At J. Carsten Remodeling, one person, our owner Jason, handles every step of the process. You don’t have to track down contractors or manage communication — from design to estimating to planning to site management, everything filters through him.
2. We’re NARI-certified.
When making significant changes to your home, you need to trust the team in your corner. Jason’s 20 years of remodeling experience speaks for itself; time has taught him how to approach design ideas and challenges, and he’s helped hundreds of people make informed remodeling decisions over the years. Jason has also been a Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodeler through NARI (National Association of Remodeling) for 10 years.
3. We will bend over backward to make things go right.
Finishing a project with happy homeowners is always Jason’s goal. He prides himself on going the extra mile to make things go right. Whether accommodating design changes mid-project or handling challenges during demo, Jason and his team make every effort to deliver an exceptional remodeling experience and bring the client’s vision to life.
4. We have the experience and knowledge to get the job done right, on time, and on budget.
Some of the first questions our clients ask us about are budget and timeline. 99% of the time, we deliver projects on time and on budget. However, in the new era of Covid, suppliers have little control over material delays. We have experienced a few delays that pushed the completion date, and we’ve learned from past experiences and adjusted schedules to account for delays.
5. We pay attention to the small details.
When it comes to remodeling, the smallest details make the biggest difference. As the job site manager, Jason oversees all aspects of every project, from inspecting progress to double-checking finishes. For example, he noticed the pantry pullouts were assembled incorrectly on a recent project. Jason had the cabinet maker replace them all before the client even knew there was an issue to address!
6. We can handle all of your design needs, from simple concept drawings to full-scale 3-D renderings.
Jason creates 99% of the layout/designs for most kitchens and bathrooms. If a project requires an architect’s expertise, he works with one of his trusted partners. When clients want help with interior design selections, Jason collaborates with Chirigos Designs for countertop colors, cabinet pulls, flooring, and other details.
7. We have won awards for our design work and customer service.
J. Carsten Remodeling has completed several award-winning projects over the years. Our team has won numerous awards through NARI for kitchens, bathrooms, and ceiling design. Jason’s most rewarding win was for an 1895 Northfield farmhouse. The home features a 1945 wall-hung farmhouse sink which was only 19” deep, so he designed custom cabinets around the sink. The result was beautiful!
8. We love what we do, and we do it well!
When you hire J. Carsten for your project, you work with a crew who loves what we do and does it well. Our team has 38 five-star reviews and counting on our Houzz page, so we must be doing something right.
9. We treat every job like it is our own home.
We go above and beyond to protect your home and minimize messes, from dust barriers to floor protection to air filtration. Jason strives to get clients back into their space and everyday life as quickly as possible.
10. We know how to work with pets and their homeowners.
One aspect of remodeling that people don’t discuss enough is pets. Furry friends are part of the family and are often present during our work. Jason communicates in advance about pets, touching on whether they will be locked up or need outdoor access and setting up plastic guards to protect them and your remodel. He also loves letting pets be in photo ops; they’re the best models!
There you have it: 10 things that set us apart. If you’re considering remodeling your home, we’d love to help! Reach out to our team to get started today!
